The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Service Manager to manage the delivery and assurance of reactive and programmed maintenance, as well as Billable Works, across a large operational site. Reporting to the Built Estate Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that maintenance activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with agreed performance standards, contractual requirements and Health & Safety legislation. A key part of the role will involve managing a high volume of low-value Billable Works, making this an ideal opportunity for an experienced Hard FM professional with strong project management and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery and assurance of all reactive and programmed maintenance across the site.
  • Oversee the delivery of Billable Works, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
  • Monitor performance against agreed KPIs and ensure maintenance tasks meet contractual First Time Fix requirements.
  • Undertake programmed maintenance inspections and assurance activities.
  • Provide technical support and advice to relevant site and customer representatives.
  • Review inspection reports and certification, raising remedial tasks and Statements of Need (SONs) where required.
  • Work closely with Mobile Authorised Persons to ensure applicable works comply with relevant requirements, including JSP 375.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption across the site.
  • Initiate Billable Works by raising Statements of Need where appropriate.
  • Manage F-Gas and waste compliance across the establishment.
  • Support the Line Manager in providing effective solutions to customer requirements.
  • Act as a key point of contact for resolving end-user issues.
  • Ensure customer complaints are investigated and resolved in a timely and satisfactory manner.
  • Project manage a high volume of low-value Billable Works from inception through to completion.
  • Maintain strong communication with internal teams, contractors and customers to ensure effective service delivery.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Hard FM Maintenance Manager with a background in planned and reactive maintenance. You will ideally have experience managing high-volume, low-value projects, together with a strong understanding of operational maintenance, performance management and customer service. Technical qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering would be advantageous but are not essential. More importantly, you will be a confident and competent people manager with experience of:

  • IOSH principles and Health & Safety

Essential Requirements

  • Experience as a Hard FM Maintenance Manager or similar.
  • Strong planned and reactive maintenance background.
  • Experience managing high-volume, low-value projects.
  • Experience managing KPIs and operational performance.
  • Strong people management and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety and IOSH principles.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain SC Clearance.
