About the Role

Are you a qualified domestic plumber looking for a stable, long-term role with a supportive team and excellent earning potential? We are looking for a skilled and motivated Plumber to join a small, experienced maintenance team delivering repairs and maintenance across Ministry of Defence (MOD) accommodation in Bristol, Lyneham, Gloucester and Swindon. Candidates based in or around Gloucester are preferred due to the location of the work.

Working across both Service Family Accommodation (SFA) and Mess Facilities Housing (MFH), you'll play an important role in ensuring homes remain safe, functional and well maintained for military personnel and their families. You'll be joining a close-knit team of three plumbers, delivering a high-quality repairs and maintenance service while providing excellent customer care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out domestic plumbing repairs, maintenance and installations across occupied and void properties.
  • Diagnosing and repairing leaks and pipework faults.
  • Replacing sanitary ware, taps, showers and associated plumbing fixtures.
  • Maintaining and repairing domestic heating and hot water systems.
  • Fault finding and carrying out planned preventative maintenance.
  • Recording completed work electronically using handheld job management systems.
  • Managing van stock to maximise first-time fixes.
  • Completing work safely, efficiently and to a high standard while complying with health and safety procedures.
  • Providing a professional, customer-focused service at all times.
  • Working collaboratively with the wider maintenance team to deliver an effective repairs service.

The role also includes participation in a 1-in-3-week standby and call-out rota, including weekends. Additional standby and call-out payments are provided.

What We're Looking For

  • NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plumbing.
  • Previous experience in domestic plumbing repairs and maintenance.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Eligibility to obtain BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) security clearance.
