An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced CNC Miller to join a well-established precision engineering environment. This role involves programming, setting, and operating 3-axis and 5-axis machining centres producing a wide variety of work including bespoke, prototype, and one-off components, alongside some small batch production. This is a varied and technically interesting position, ideal for someone who enjoys working on complex, non-repetitive parts and taking ownership of jobs from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, set, and operate CNC milling machines
- Work with Mazatrol and/or Heidenhain control systems
- Machine bespoke, prototype, and low-volume precision components
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Work to tight tolerances and high quality standards
- Inspect parts using appropriate measuring equipment
- Create fixtures and jigs where required
- Manage jobs from cradle to grave and meet delivery deadlines
- Maintain accurate shop floor documentation and data records
- Carry out basic preventative machine maintenance
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience in CNC milling
- Strong experience producing one-off and prototype parts
- Experience with Mazatrol or Heidenhain CNC controls
- Excellent understanding of tooling, feeds, and speeds
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Strong inspection and quality control skills
Desirable:
- Experience with conventional machines (manual mill, lathe, grinder)
- CAD knowledge
- Understanding of quality systems
Hours
- Monday - Thursday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
- Friday: 8:00am - 2:00pm
