This is an exciting opportunity to oversee facilities and maintenance service delivery across the Reserve Forces and Cadets Association (RFCA) estate in Wales. The Opportunity

As Area Manager, youll take full responsibility for delivering a high-quality, compliant maintenance service across a diverse estate. This includes planned and reactive maintenance, grounds maintenance, and support for capital works projects. Youll work closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders to meet performance targets and ensure all work is delivered to the highest standard.
Key duties include:

  • Leading a regional operational team with a strong focus on service delivery and statutory compliance
  • Managing and improving performance across key metrics and KPIs
  • Supporting project delivery and capability building in line with evolving estate needs
  • Driving a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Acting as the primary interface with the client and stakeholders across the RFCA and DIO estates
  • Leading team development, wellbeing, and inclusivity initiatives
  • Ensuring policies and processes are aligned with business and contract standards

What Youll Bring

We\’re looking for someone with:

  • A strong track record in operational leadership, preferably within estates or facilities management
  • Experience managing diverse teams, influencing at all levels, and fostering high performance
  • Good understanding of statutory compliance, building maintenance, and risk management
  • Confidence in budget management, reporting, and decision-making
  • Hands-on experience in technical or trade environments (engineering qualifications desirable)
  • The ability to travel across Wales as needed (full UK driving licence required)
  • UK nationality and eligibility for Security Clearance (SC)
