Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer Location: Central & Greater London (within the M25)
Salary: £48,000 £55,000 basic (OTE around £60,000 including call-out)
Hours: 8am 5pm | Permanent
Call-Out Rota: Around 1 week in 7 (double-time overtime + £150 standby allowance)
TheRole:Our client is a long-established HVAC specialist with over 30 years of experience delivering high-quality mechanical and heating services across London and the Home Counties. They work with a wide range of clients, from corporate offices to public sector buildings, providing a varied and technically challenging workload that keeps the job interesting. They are now seeking an experienced Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer to join their team. This role involves the installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of commercial and domestic HVAC systems, including boilers, pumps, pressurisation units and expansion vessels. While most work is based within Central and Greater London, some travel around the M25 will also be required. The position includes participation in an on-call rota, usually one week in seven. This adds around £5,000 per year in additional earnings, bringing the total on-target earnings to approximately £60,000. Its an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working across different sites and wants exposure to high-spec commercial systems in a fast-paced metropolitan environment.
What Youll Do
- Install and commission HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with regulations and manufacturer guidance.
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across multiple sites.
- Diagnose and repair faults in boilers, pumps and associated equipment.
- Work safely in line with health and safety standards.
- Communicate professionally with clients and maintain accurate service records.
- Support other trades and provide cover as part of the call-out rota.
What You Need
- Proven experience working on commercial boiler systems.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Current Commercial Gas qualifications (essential).
- Additional oil qualifications (desirable).
- Full UK driving licence and reasonable commute to Central London.
