An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Engineer to join a well-established facilities and estate maintenance team supporting critical defence infrastructure. This is a mobile position where you will play a key role in ensuring maintenance, compliance, and technical service delivery across multiple sites. You will be responsible for supporting the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of mechanical and electrical works, ensuring all activities meet required standards and Safe Systems of Work. The role offers a varied workload, combining technical oversight, stakeholder collaboration, and hands-on operational support.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure contractual obligations are delivered safely, on time, and in line with JSP375 requirements
- Produce and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements
- Assess the competence of skilled personnel and provide technical guidance
- Support site teams, supply chain partners, and end users with technical advice
- Contribute to project delivery and identify opportunities to improve safety, efficiency, and sustainability
- Provide professional advice on Safe Systems of Work and compliance procedures
- Build strong working relationships with stakeholders and operational teams
- Supervise, coach, and assess Skilled Persons to ensure safe working practices
- Support estate safety and compliance by identifying and addressing potential risks
About You
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Be a fully qualified Mechanical or Electrical Engineer
- Ideally hold Authorised Person (AP) status in Electrical or Mechanical (training can be provided)
- Have strong experience working with Safe Systems of Work, particularly JSP375
- Demonstrate excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Be confident working independently across multiple sites
- Have experience supervising site operations and supporting teams
- Hold a full UK driving licence
- Be willing to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota
