Mainstay Recruitment are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of Billable Works and infrastructure projects across a multi-site estate. This role offers end-to-end responsibility for project delivery, ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, and health & safety requirements while working closely with key stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes. You will play a pivotal role in managing supply chain partners, controlling costs, mitigating risks, and supporting operational and sustainability objectives, including carbon reduction targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle delivery of Billable Works and infrastructure projects, from initiation through to completion
- Ensure all works comply with government regulations, statutory requirements, contractual obligations, and health & safety policies
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring robust control measures are in place
- Manage and monitor supply chain partners, ensuring suitably qualified personnel deliver work to agreed safety, quality, and performance standards
- Review and approve Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
- Collaborate with Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) representatives, site managers, and customer service teams to agree scope, priorities, and delivery programmes
- Progress works through the Maximo CAFM system and ensure accurate, timely completion of all project documentation, including SharePoint records
- Support end users and management by providing effective, compliant solutions to customer requirements
- Contribute to the delivery of sustainability initiatives, including supporting Ministry of Defence carbon reduction targets
- Manage customer issues and complaints, ensuring timely and satisfactory resolution
- Control project costs, ensuring value for money and sound commercial decision-making
- Work with stakeholders to mitigate contractual risks and ensure budgets and work plans align with operational needs
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Proven experience in project management, including stakeholder engagement, cost control, and operational planning
- Experience supervising site operations and managing competing work priorities
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and performance-management skills
- HNC/D or equivalent qualification in Building/Civil Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Demonstrable background in construction project management from concept to completion
- Strong IT capability, including Excel, Word, CAFM systems, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. APM, RICS, MCIOB) is desirable
- Accredited training such as Asbestos Responsible Person, Legionella Responsible Person, or Authorised Person training is advantageous
- Familiarity with CAFM applications is beneficial
