About the Role
The Technical Sales Engineer will play a key role in driving sales and providing technical expertise to promote our specialist geotechnical solutions across the UK & Ireland. This role combines technical knowledge with strong sales acumen to identify customer needs, provide tailored solutions, and secure new business. You will be experienced in managing client relationships, delivering technical presentations and supporting the growth of the company’s market share.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with business objectives to achieve revenue targets.
- Identify and engage potential clients, building strong relationships to understand their technical needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Deliver technical presentations, proposals, and demonstrations to prospective clients, showcasing the company’s capabilities.
- Work closely with the technical team to ensure client requirements are met and solutions are effectively implemented.
- Provide ongoing technical support to clients, addressing queries and ensuring satisfaction with delivered solutions.
- Prepare and deliver accurate sales forecasts, reports, and updates to management.
- Represent the company at client meetings, trade shows and industry events to promote our products and services.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to identify opportunities for campaigns and lead-generation initiatives.
- Stay informed about industry developments, competitor activities and emerging technologies to inform sales strategies.
Required Skills and Experience
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Geotechnics, or a related technical discipline.
- Proven track record of success in a technical sales role, preferably in the geotechnical or construction sectors.
- Strong understanding of geotechnical products and services, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on building and maintaining client relationships.
- Experience delivering technical presentations and proposals to a variety of stakeholders.
- Demonstrable ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Proficient in CRM tools and sales forecasting software – ideally Salesforce.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess client needs and develop bespoke solutions.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with a commitment to achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
