About The Role
Mainline Groundworks is looking for an experienced
Site Engineer to support the successful delivery of commercial groundworks, drainage, highways and infrastructure projects across residential, commercial and adoption-led developments.
This is a hands-on site engineering role where you'll work closely with site management, subcontractors and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, accurately and in line with programme requirements.
From initial setting out through to final as-built records, you'll play a key role in maintaining quality, resolving technical issues and supporting efficient project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting out earthworks, drainage, foundations, roads and external works from approved engineering drawings.
- Carrying out QA inspections, dimensional checks and level control throughout the construction process.
- Producing accurate as-built surveys, red-line drawings and handover documentation.
- Coordinating with Site Managers, Foremen and subcontractors to maintain programme and quality standards.
- Resolving technical queries with clients, consultants and design teams.
- Identifying clashes with utilities and existing infrastructure before construction progresses.
- Supporting RAMS implementation, safe systems of work and quality assurance procedures.
- Attending site meetings and highlighting engineering, programme or technical risks early.
What We Are Looking For
We're interested in engineers who enjoy working on live construction projects and take pride in delivering work accurately and professionally. Ideally you'll have:
- Experience setting out commercial groundworks, drainage, highways or civil engineering projects.
- A strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications and construction tolerances.
- Experience producing QA documentation and as-built records.
- Good communication skills and the confidence to work with site teams, consultants and clients.
- A proactive approach to problem solving and programme management.
- Full UK driving licence.
