Description MaineHealth Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME, is recruiting for a Physician Assistant (PA) or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) with 2-4 years of outpatient surgical experience to work in the Adult Cardiovascular Surgery service. This is a full-time day-shift position with no weekends, nights, or holidays. You will join a comprehensive Cardiac Surgery program consisting of 7 Cardiac Surgeons and 31 PAs/ACNPs, offering an exciting environment with a broad scope of practice. The APP team works with a high level of autonomy, supported by the Cardiac Surgeons and Cardiovascular Critical Care Intensivists, to provide top-tier care. Maine Medical Center\’s cardiac surgery program is at the forefront of minimally invasive valve platforms like TAVR and advanced heart failure treatments, including ECMO and VADs. Desired Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor\’s degree and successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program. 3-5 years of critical care experience, preferably in an outpatient Cardiac Surgery setting. Current license issued by the State of Maine or eligibility for licensure. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills. Ability to effectively triage, organize, and prioritize. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Proficient computer skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
