Maine Medical Center is currently seeking Certified Nursing Assistants to join our newly created 40-bed medical-surgical unit focused on patients requiring a longer length of stay. This transitional care unit bridges various providers, services, and settings. Our interprofessional team includes geriatrics, nursing, providers, and activities teams working to modify the care plan to promote engagement through art, games, and socialization, aiming to preserve health and morale.
As a team, we demonstrate exceptional communication skills, effectively interacting and problem-solving with healthcare professionals, hospital administration, patients, and families. Under the supervision of Registered Professional Nurses and according to policies and procedures, the CNA performs various service duties and technical tasks such as taking vital signs and assisting patients with hygiene and activities of daily living. Duties may vary by area, and consideration of the specific needs and behaviours of patient populations is required.
The CNA - Acute Care role assists in nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, performing direct and indirect care duties.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Current applicable state license as a Certified Nursing Assistant required.
- Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
- CNA experience 0-6 months; on-the-job training provided.
