Barbara Bush Children's Hospital Nursing/Clinical Support

Full-time, Night Shift Schedule: 3 12-hour shifts, Weekends Required

For a limited time, MaineHealth is offering sign-on bonuses for Clinical Nursing Assistants (CNA):

  • 0-1 years of experience eligible for $2,500 (full time)
  • 1+ years of experience eligible for $4,000 (full time)

Bonus eligibility applies to candidates hired into a Full or Part-time CNA position. Bonus amount is prorated for Part-time hires. Per diem hires are ineligible. Current MaineHealth employee members are ineligible; former MaineHealth employees are ineligible until more than 6 months have passed since separation.

Unit Bio: We are a 30-bed Pediatric Unit at the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital, serving children in Maine from birth to young adulthood. We provide comprehensive, family-centered healthcare, from routine check-ups and immunizations to treatment of life-threatening illnesses and injuries. As Maine's only full-service children's hospital, we offer a wide range of specialized services, including oncology, general surgery, cardiology, and more. Prior pediatrics experience is preferred.

Position Summary: Under the supervision of Registered Professional Nurses and according to policies and procedures, performs service duties and technical tasks such as taking vital signs and assisting patients with basic hygiene and activities of daily living. Responsibilities may vary based on assignment and patient needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Current applicable state license as a Certified Nursing Assistant required.
  • Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
  • Experience: 0-6 months as a CNA; on-the-job training provided.
