We're looking for a strategic, commercially minded Head of Events & International Activity to take ownership of an ambitious events portfolio, drive international engagement, and play a pivotal role in the next stage of the organisation's growth.
Why this role?
You'll join a small, passionate, high-performing team that's transforming the future of transport innovation. Following a year of major milestones—record membership growth, award-winning transformation, and over 50 successful events—we're investing in a senior leader to elevate our events and international presence even further. This is a unique opportunity to combine strategic leadership, creative programme development, and hands-on delivery across UK-wide and global activities.
What you'll lead:
- Strategic Planning & Growth
- Shape and deliver the organisation's annual Business Plan.
- Set and manage budgets with clear revenue targets.
- Develop compelling content and member value through Groups and Forums.
- Identify new commercial opportunities, partnerships, and growth areas.
- Events Programme
- Own the delivery of the full annual events portfolio.
- Lead five major conferences each year—covering revenue generation, logistics, operations, and content.
- Deliver flagship events, including a major annual conference, high-profile receptions, and a 350-delegate industry dinner.
- Build sponsorship pipelines and manage event communications and member feedback.
- Explore and launch new event concepts and collaborations.
- Groups & Committees
- Lead the operational delivery of new Group activity and related meetings.
- Manage elections for Group and Forum committees.
- Oversee work programmes including initiatives such as the Early Careers Essay Competition.
- International Programme
- Manage relationships across a global network of organisations.
- Coordinate UK presence at leading international trade shows—including major World and European Congresses.
- Lead at least one overseas trade mission annually.
- Generate revenue through sponsorship and international event participation.
- Operations & Systems
- Serve as Data Officer, ensuring GDPR compliance.
- Oversee CRM and website updates via off-the-shelf systems.
- Support strong internal processes and smooth operational delivery.
What we're looking for:
- A confident programme or events leader with experience in large-scale conferences, stakeholder engagement, or international activity.
- Someone commercially astute, creative, organised, and able to operate at pace in a small, collaborative team.
- A relationship-builder who can engage senior stakeholders, partners, and sponsors.
The offer:
- £50,000–£60,000, depending on experience
- Up to 5% annual performance-related bonus
- Hybrid working (Min. 50% in-office – Moorgate)
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays
- Pension contribution
- Benenden health cover
- Interest-free season ticket loan
- Flexible hours and openness to part-time arrangements.
