My client is a highly respected, technology-led design & manufacturing company which is recognised as a market leader in the field of conveyor-based materials handling systems. The company operates from modern facilities in the UK and serves a wide range of customers globally. It has a loyal, highly skilled workforce, a reputation for producing quality turnkey solutions for demanding applications and places a high emphasis on values, customer service and retention.
The company is poised for significant expansion and is investing significantly in innovation, operational excellence and leadership capability. A key part of this is to strengthen the senior exec team by identifying a high-calibre individual to lead the company’s engineering activity ensuring technical excellence, consistency of standards and successful delivery of engineered systems across the sectors in which it operates.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Technical standards and design governance
- Engineering delivery performance on live projects
- Product development (including R&D)
- Engineering resource planning
- Electrical standards & site acceptance
In addition, there will be a requirement to effectively manage a team and to mentor and develop individuals to ensure effective succession planning and future capability. You will have a proven track record of operating at senior leadership level within an engineering-led, project-based environment and be degree qualified or time served in mechanical, electrical, controls or systems engineering. Proven communication and influencing skills together with a collaborative approach and strong commercial awareness will be keys to success in the role. A hybrid working pattern will be considered for this role.
