Are you an experienced facilities professional ready to take the next step in your career? We are looking for a proactive and organised Senior Facilities Officer to lead the delivery of high quality facilities management services across our council buildings. This is a key role in ensuring our workspaces are safe, welcoming, compliant, and fit for purpose for staff, visitors, and service users. As Senior Facilities Officer, you will take responsibility for the smooth, efficient, and compliant running of council premises.
You will:
- Coordinate day to day facilities management services across multiple council buildings.
- Ensure all sites are safe, clean, secure, well maintained, and operating efficiently.
- Be the first point of contact for staff regarding all facilities related queries and issues, delivering excellent customer service.
- Supervise and support two Facilities Officers, providing guidance, direction, and workload coordination.
- Provide dotted line management for the Business Terrace Coordinator, ensuring fully joined up support across key council spaces.
- Manage contractors and suppliers, including overseeing performance, scheduling, and contract compliance.
- Support statutory compliance, ensuring the council meets all relevant health and safety, building and maintenance regulations.
- Assist with the planning and delivery of small projects, refurbishments, and space management activities.
- Develop and implement the Council's facilities strategy aligned with corporate priorities, including sustainability and energy efficiency targets.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience in facilities management within a multi-site environment.
- Understands health and safety legislation and building compliance requirements.
- Is highly organised, responsive, and able to prioritise effectively.
- Enjoys solving problems and providing excellent customer service.
- Can supervise and motivate others while fostering a collaborative working environment.
- Is confident liaising with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
This is a full-time position on a permanent contract, working 37 hours a week Monday to Friday on-site, with some hybrid working permitted.
