As Senior Automation Specialist you will identify automation opportunities and implement solutions using Power Automate, Python, AI, and robotic process automation. This role is part of the Council's automation journey, working closely with Transformation, Digital Services, ICT and other council service areas to streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, and improve data quality.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver automation solutions across council services.
- Use Power Automate, Python, AI and RPA to improve efficiency.
- Work with stakeholders to identify automation opportunities.
- Support and improve the Performance Management system.
- Contribute to automation standards and best practices.
Qualifications
- Strong practical experience in automation and process improvement, with the ability to design and deliver robust solutions in a complex environment.
- Experience delivering end-to-end automation projects, analysing business processes, and implementing improvements using Power Automate, Python, AI and RPA.
- Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
- Excellent knowledge of Power Automate; strong Python skills; understanding of APIs, integrations and data flows; strong stakeholder communication skills.
Desirable Requirements
- SQL knowledge.
- Experience with Power Apps / Power BI.
- Local government experience.
- SharePoint experience.
