Are you a creative and strategic marketer with a passion for culture, audience engagement and delivering results? Join us in a new role as Museum & Culture Marketing Senior Officer.
About the role:
We are seeking a marketing professional to join us, working across the Museums Service, the Arts Hub and the Council’s Communications Team. This is a unique opportunity to combine strategic marketing, audience engagement, digital communications and income generation within a thriving cultural environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver the marketing strategy for Maidstone Museums and contribute to the Arts Hub marketing strategy.
- Provide expert marketing advice to museum officers and colleagues across the Council.
- Provide strategic direction for content creation, ensuring brand, accessibility and quality standards are met.
- Manage website content, CRM activity, email marketing campaigns and ticketing promotions.
- Monitor and evaluate campaign performance, using insights and data analytics to drive continuous improvement.
- Lead promotional activity for exhibitions, events, venue hire, touring exhibitions and retail opportunities, supporting the achievement of income generation and visitor targets.
- Work collaboratively with varied internal and external stakeholders, including colleagues, partners, artists, influencers, and in-house graphic designer.
This is a full-time position, working 37 hours per week, on a permanent contract. The role is based across the Communications and Museum teams. The postholder will be expected to maintain a regular presence at the Museum to support operational requirements while working flexibly across Council locations and from home where appropriate. In addition, there is a requirement for occasional work outside of traditional working hours, as needed.
About You:
We are looking for someone who is self-motivated with professional knowledge of marketing strategy, audience development and digital channels. The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience of delivering complex marketing campaigns with measurable outcomes.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and work collaboratively within a team, remaining calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and build effective relationships with diverse audiences and stakeholders.
- Ability to effectively adapt written and verbal communications to meet different needs, and deliver inclusive, accessible messaging in a public-sector environment.
- Demonstrable experience of using marketing analytics.
You will have the flexibility to attend events at various sites across the borough outside of traditional office hours, including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays as required.
