Overview

The Haemato-Oncology Day Unit (HODU) is a modern 9-chair treatment facility providing high-quality care to patients with oncological and haematological conditions. Our dedicated team delivers Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT), including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted treatments, as well as a wide range of supportive therapies such as blood transfusions.

Responsibilities

  • Support the unit manager to run an effective and safe unit as part of the nursing team.
  • Deliver a high standard of care and service to patients, adopting a holistic, proactive and dynamic approach.
  • Support patients and their carers on all aspects of care, whether newly diagnosed or receiving treatment with palliative intent.
  • Work with colleagues to provide individualised, compassionate and informed care throughout the patient treatment pathway.

It offers two operating theatres, 28 inpatient and day-care beds, diagnostic services, and consultation/treatment rooms.

All successful applicants will complete our corporate trust induction, followed by the Trust’s 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics (full-time; travel to both Trust sites may be required). The programme includes supernumerary shifts, classroom sessions and e-learning.
