Our brilliant Ashtead store is looking to expand its team.
How many hours and days will you be working?
This role will include working 3 days per week (23.5 hours/week). Weekends and bank holidays are included.
Who are we looking for?
- The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in all areas of fishkeeping, with some previous experience in aquatics and fishkeeping, an enthusiasm for the hobby, and a strong commitment to customer service.
- They should be self-motivated, positive, and organised, as well as hardworking and enthusiastic to learn.
- The person we are looking for should be a positive, practical individual who is keen to be part of a strong, happy team of staff who enjoy working in their vocational career.
- Needs to have good customer care, listen to instructions, and be able to physically carry out daily duties.
- Must own or keep fish themselves
What does the role include?
- Aiding in the day-to-day maintenance of the store, including caring for the wide variety of livestock that we carry and serving customers.
- Delivery of excellent standards of livestock care and store presentation.
- Greeting and welcoming all our customers in an articulate, approachable, and friendly manner to maintain our high standards of customer care.
- Communicate your fishkeeping knowledge clearly to customers with varying levels of experience and maintain our policy of responsible fishkeeping.
- Working efficiently as part of a team in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Completing sales correctly and efficiently, ensuring customers leave the store fully satisfied.
- Getting merchandise out onto the shop floor, organising stock
Where will you be working?
Ashtead store sells Tropical and Coldwater fish as well as Pond and Marine fish.
Preferred qualifications
Ideally, you\'ll have at least one year\'s experience in a retail environment, along with a passion for fishkeeping.
Experience caring for pond, tropical, and marine fish would be highly desirable.
This role includes staff parking on site and a staff discount after the probationary period has been completed.
