We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Phase Leader to support the raising of attainment for students within the relevant Key Stage.
Salary: £25,765 annually (actual).
Hours per week: 35.
Location: 81 Crescent Road, Reading, Berkshire, RG1 5SL.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote a positive learning culture through high expectations of student interactions, conduct and engagement.
- Support Heads of Year, tutors and year teams in providing effective pastoral support for students.
- Monitor behaviour, attendance and punctuality information, identifying patterns and supporting timely intervention.
- Support students on report, Individual Behaviour Plans or Pastoral Support Plans.
- Work with students at risk of disengagement, applying appropriate strategies and interventions.
- Communicate with families and stakeholders to support positive attendance, punctuality and behaviour.
- Liaise with safeguarding colleagues and external agencies where appropriate.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive atmosphere across selected year groups.
The Ideal Candidate
- The ideal candidate will have recent experience of working within a pastoral environment and a caring, positive approach when working with students.
- They will be able to understand and respond sensitively to student needs, support positive behaviour management and remain calm under pressure.
- They will have clear communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to maintain confidentiality, and the confidence to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A responsible, adaptable and flexible approach will be important, alongside a commitment to ongoing service and personal development.
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent is required.
