Maiden Marc Advisory are currently partnering with a fast-growing boutique executive search firm specialising in global financial markets as they continue to expand their Front Office practice. Founded by three experienced Partners from one of the market's most respected commodities search firms, our client has quickly established itself as a trusted advisor to leading hedge funds, trading houses, investment firms, and financial institutions. Operating on retained, senior-level search mandates, they combine deep market expertise with a highly collaborative and research-driven approach. Since launching in 2019, the firm has grown steadily, expanded into a second international office, with US growth plans already underway. Despite being a boutique business, they have invested heavily in building the infrastructure, leadership, and culture needed for sustainable growth.
This is an opportunity to join a business where junior consultants receive genuine responsibility from an early stage. Rather than sitting behind senior consultants, you will be given exposure to clients, candidates, and retained search delivery while developing into a commercially focused executive search professional.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering retained executive search assignments across Front Office financial markets, with a particular focus on commodities trading across both the Americas and EMEA
- Conducting detailed market mapping and competitor research across global markets
- Identifying, engaging, and assessing senior candidates through proactive headhunting
- Building long-term relationships with high-performing professionals across trading, sales, portfolio management, and investment teams
- Producing market intelligence, search documentation, candidate reports, and client updates
- Supporting Partners throughout the full executive search process, from project launch through to successful completion
- Developing a deep understanding of commodities markets, hedge funds, and broader financial services
- Attending client and candidate meetings while gradually taking greater ownership of commercial relationships
- Contributing ideas to improve internal processes, research methodologies, and overall delivery
The ideal profile would include:
- Approximately 1–5 years of experience within executive search, recruitment, financial markets, or another commercially focused environment
- A genuine interest in financial markets and the commodities sector
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- A naturally curious mindset with strong research capabilities
- Confidence speaking with senior professionals and executives
- A proactive, resilient, and solutions-focused approach
- The ambition to build a long-term career within executive search
More important than any specific background, our client is looking for someone with the right mentality. They value individuals who naturally work hard, take ownership, look for opportunities to add value, and genuinely want to contribute to building something over the long term. They describe their ideal hire as someone who is proactive, positive, commercially minded, and eager to grow alongside the business.
The firm offers a collaborative boutique environment, direct exposure to experienced Partners, structured development, international career opportunities, and a clear route towards taking ownership of clients and search assignments as your experience grows. If you are looking to join an ambitious executive search firm where your progression is based on contribution rather than hierarchy, we'd love to hear from you.
