MMA are currently working to add an associate-level candidate to a leading boutique search firm that covers Managing Directors and business-critical revenue-generating placements for a select group of hedge fund, private equity, and real asset-focused clientele. With their long-standing relationships, they are consistently retained by the most prestigious institutions across EMEA, and are widely considered one of the industry's best boutique retained search firms focused on alternative assets.

Spanning two offices in London and New York, they are looking to add someone in London to a team of two, working closely with a Partner who billed over £2 million in 2025 and already has over a million in 2026 pipeline. Joining on a base up to £35,000 plus a genuinely leading performance-weighted bonus structure, you will be developed with the long-term aim of moving into a revenue-generating Principal as your sector knowledge increases throughout your career.

As a firm, they promote organic growth and foster a true meritocratic environment; all current Principals in the firm started as Associates and have grown with the business, and they can point to the fact that they have never lost an employee to a competitor to back this up. This is achieved through 'on-desk' market exposure and a development program perfected over their 10+ years of trading, which gives Associates a balance of senior exposure and strategic involvement in the consulting, delivery, and research processes from day one.

As you develop, you will gain responsibility for more significant parts of the mandate management and delivery, including:

  • Identifying, referencing, and assessing potential candidates for retained mandates
  • Ongoing research and networking to source top performers from talent pools across their core markets
  • Creating forensic competitor analysis, including strategic overviews, benchmarking, bespoke market and product intelligence reports through referencing and profiling market leaders
  • Assisting and running the client-side execution of active mandates
  • Conducting pre-pitch/origination research and due diligence, as well as proactively supporting strategic projects
  • Active outreach and long-term relationship building with the top talent in the market

The typical profile of a successful candidate would include the following:

  • Strong research and academic credentials with a degree or postgraduate qualification
  • Up to 2 years of commercial experience in executive search, headhunting, recruitment, or transferable professional service experience from consulting, expert networks, professional services environments or grad schemes
  • A naturally inquisitive, structured, resilient, and disciplined personality with a high level of attention to detail
  • An analytical thinking process alongside a well-rounded communication technique
  • A drive to build a career in retained search within a respected industry leader

Please reach out if you meet the above criteria and are interested in learning more about this opportunity.
