About the Role: We are seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support children and young people within the Royal Berkshire Hospital children’s ward and in community, home, and other off-site settings. The role involves providing tailored educational support to pupils who cannot attend school due to medical needs, delivering targeted interventions and flexible tutoring to maintain continuity in learning and promote confidence.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting students with learning and overall wellbeing, fostering a calm, positive environment.
- Adapting learning to individual circumstances and working with medical students and learners with diverse needs.
- Collaborating with families and professionals to build strong relationships.
- Participating in team meetings and professional development activities.
- Working flexible patterns, including part-time where suitable.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant teaching or supporting qualifications.
- Experience working with children with medical or educational needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
