An exciting opportunity to support the most vulnerable learners through providing high-quality support to pupils who are unable to access full-time mainstream education due to Emotional Based School Avoidance (EBSA), medical needs, risk of permanent exclusion, or other reasons requiring alternative provision. The service will provide consistent, high-quality, safe, and timely tuition for pupils experiencing persistent absence or educational instability.
We are seeking staff who would be willing to provide tutoring alongside their current role or who are looking for a new challenging role at an exciting time for Maiden Erlegh Trust. We are happy to consider a range of working patterns, including full-time, part-time, and flexible arrangements, depending on suitability and service needs.
Cranbury College is an alternative education provider for young people aged 5-16 years old. We support learners who have been permanently excluded from mainstream settings and provide preventative support to those at risk of permanent exclusion. We also support learners who unintentionally exclude themselves from education and children who cannot access school for medical reasons. The multi-site organisation includes a primary provision at College Road and a secondary provision at Cranbury Road. Outreach teams provide specialist support within schools and a Hospital Teaching Service at Royal Berkshire Hospital provides education to children on short and long term stays.

Maiden Erlegh Trust is committed to developing a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative community of highly effective schools that deliver excellent education opportunities for children and young people. Through our work we ensure children are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and behaviours to deal with the demands of an ever-changing world. The Trust currently comprises nine schools in the local area, with a variety of settings including primary, secondary, special and a PRU. The Trust encourages professional development at all levels through cross-trust networks to share best practice and ideas. Staff promotion within different roles and settings is actively encouraged to support career aspirations.
We operate a system of ‘ME days’ allowing staff to request an additional day off per year to attend special events such as children’s sports days and graduations, family and friends’ weddings. CPD is available for all staff at all levels. Free flu vaccinations are offered to all staff. Free eye tests are provided for eligible staff. Breakfast and lunch are provided for staff regularly, including on many INSET days and as a thank you throughout the year.
Applicants should be teachers (qualified or unqualified) and capable of delivering subject-specific tutoring. Successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and successful references.
