This is a key pastoral leadership role within the school. The postholder will lead an allocated year group, ensuring high standards of behaviour, attendance, personal development and student wellbeing, alongside their teaching responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the pastoral/tutor team, ensuring consistency and high standards across the year group
  • Deliver and quality assure the Personal Development curriculum, including tutor time and assemblies
  • Monitor student progress, behaviour and attendance, using data to identify trends and implement interventions
  • Support all students, including disadvantaged and vulnerable groups, to make strong progress
  • Maintain effective communication with parents, carers and external agencies
  • Promote high expectations, inclusion and a positive school culture
  • Contribute to wider teaching and learning priorities as a classroom teacher
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed rigorously
