We are now seeking a HSEQ Manager who will be responsible for leading and continuously improving the company’s Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems across the business. This includes supporting safe and compliant operations within industrial equipment sales, warehouse and logistics activities, field service engineering, installation, maintenance, and customer site work. The role ensures that the business operates in line with legal, regulatory and customer requirements while driving a proactive culture of compliance, risk reduction, operational discipline, and continuous improvement.

HSEQ Strategy and Leadership
  • Develop, implement and maintain the company’s HSEQ strategy, policies, procedures and management systems.
  • Promote a positive HSEQ culture across all business functions, including sales, warehouse, transport, engineering and service operations.
  • Provide visible leadership and practical support to managers and teams on all HSEQ matters.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for quality assurance, health and safety, environmental compliance and operational risk.
Health and Safety Management
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant UK health and safety legislation and approved codes of practice.
  • Lead risk assessment processes for warehouse operations, engineering activities, lifting and handling, electrical work, work at height, lone working, driving for work and customer site activities.
  • Review and maintain RAMS, safe systems of work, permit controls and contractor management processes.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences, identifying root causes and driving corrective actions.
  • Monitor safety performance, trends and leading indicators, ensuring actions are tracked to closure.
  • Support branch, warehouse and service managers in the practical application of H&S controls.
Quality Management
  • Develop and maintain the company’s quality management framework, processes and controls.
  • Drive process compliance and standardisation across sales handover, installation, service delivery, warehouse activities, engineering documentation and customer interactions.
  • Lead internal audits and support external audits, customer audits and accreditation processes.
  • Manage non-conformance reporting, corrective and preventive actions, root cause analysis and lessons learned.
  • Support operational teams to improve right-first-time performance, service quality, documentation accuracy and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure that field service records, commissioning documents, maintenance records and inspection regimes meet required standards.
Environmental Management
  • Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and company environmental obligations.
  • Oversee waste management, hazardous substances controls, recycling practices, spill response and environmental incident reporting.
  • Support the business in reducing environmental impact across warehousing, vehicle operations, packaging, parts usage and field activities.
  • Monitor environmental risks associated with site work, service operations and warehouse storage.
  • Promote environmentally responsible working practices throughout the business.
Audits, Compliance and Governance
  • Plan and deliver internal QHSE audits across all operational areas.
  • Maintain compliance registers, policies, procedures, risk registers and action trackers.
  • Ensure statutory inspections, certifications and required training are current and effectively controlled.
  • Support the business in maintaining or achieving relevant certifications such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 where applicable.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, insurers, customers, contractors and external auditors as required.
  • Ensure that customer-specific compliance and site access requirements are understood and embedded into working practices.
Training and Competence
  • Identify HSEQ training needs across warehouse, field service, engineering and management teams.
  • Work with managers to ensure employees are trained, competent and appropriately authorised for the tasks they undertake.
  • Deliver or coordinate toolbox talks, compliance briefings, inductions and refresher training.
  • Support the development of a competence matrix for operational and engineering roles.
Operational and Field Service Support
  • Work closely with service, warehouse and operations teams to ensure safe planning and execution of work.
  • Review field service activities involving electrical systems, gas interfaces, water systems, lifting, transport, installation and maintenance tasks.
  • Support safe management of equipment movement, storage, delivery, returns, workshop activity and spare parts handling.
  • Ensure technician and engineer safety arrangements are fit for purpose, especially for lone working and customer site attendance.
  • Assist with customer escalations, technical investigations and incident reviews where HSEQ risk is involved.
Reporting and Continuous Improvement
  • Produce regular HSEQ reports and KPI dashboards for senior leadership.
  • Analyse trends in incidents, audit findings, quality failures, claims, returns, warranty issues and compliance gaps.
  • Lead improvement plans to strengthen operational control, reduce risk and improve business performance.
  • Support a culture of accountability, reporting, learning and continuous improvement across the organisation.
Essential Key Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience in a HSEQ, HSE or compliance management role.
  • Experience within operational environments (e.g. engineering, field service, warehousing or similar).
  • Strong experience managing health and safety across multi-site or field-based operations.
  • Experience with audits, incident investigation and corrective action processes.
  • Working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and its practical application.
