We are now seeking a Group Assistant Accountant to join our Group Finance team. Working within our shared-service function, you will support month-end reporting, reconciliations, cashbook activity, intercompany accounting and audit preparation across our Group entities. This is a great opportunity for an AAT-qualified accountant looking to broaden their experience within a growing, multi-entity business and continue developing your finance career.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Support month-end close and management-account schedules.
- Complete balance-sheet reconciliations and investigate reconciling items.
- Maintain accurate cashbook and bank records.
- Support daily cash reporting and the Group cash-flow model.
- Assist with intercompany reconciliations across Group entities.
- Prepare supporting schedules and information for external audit.
- Maintain clear and accurate financial records and audit trails.
- Support improvements and standardisation across Group Finance processes.
- Work flexibly across Group entities, systems and ledgers as priorities evolve.
Key Skills and Experience
- A sound understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Strong balance-sheet reconciliation experience.
- Experience preparing journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Good Excel and finance-system skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organisation and the ability to work to deadlines.
- A collaborative approach and willingness to learn and develop.
Qualifications
- AAT-qualified essential.
- Studying towards CIMA or ACCA desirable.
Desirable
- Experience within a multi-entity or Group Finance environment.
- Exposure to management accounts, intercompany accounting or cash reporting.
- Working knowledge of NetSuite.
- Experience within a growing, acquisitive or shared-service environment.
