Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Refuse Collector to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene within the community by collecting waste and recyclables efficiently and safely. This position requires a strong commitment to service, teamwork, and adherence to safety protocols.
Duties
- Operate refuse collection vehicles, ensuring safe and efficient driving practices at all times.
- Collect waste and recyclables from commercial properties according to established schedules.
- Communicate effectively with team members and the public to provide excellent service and address any concerns.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on collection vehicles, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
- Ensure that all collected materials are properly loaded onto the vehicle, adhering to weight limits and safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean work environment by ensuring that the vehicle is kept tidy and free of debris after each shift.
Requirements
- Valid driving licence with experience in commercial driving; TIPPER experience is advantageous.
- Previous delivery driver or WASTE REMOVER experience is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to assist with basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication skills to interact positively with colleagues and the public.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while performing physical tasks.
