We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a highly motivated and proactive person to join Mahdlo Youth Zone as our Junior Zone Coordinator. The Junior Zone Coordinator will lead and coordinate our Junior Zone offer for members aged 8-12, developing and delivering high-quality youth work programmes that provide young people with safe, engaging and developmental opportunities that reflect their needs, interests and ideas.
The role will involve:
- Leading and coordinating the Junior Zone programme, ensuring activities are exciting, inclusive, developmental and responsive to the diverse needs of our members.
- Planning and delivering youth work programmes and activities, including leading a minimum of three sessions each week and working directly with young people.
- Supporting our Holiday Zone provision, helping to provide an exciting and high-quality offer for young people during school holidays.
- Providing direct line management, coaching and support to coordinators, sessional youth workers and volunteers, helping them to develop and deliver high-quality youth work.
- Ensuring young people’s voices are central to the planning, delivery and evaluation of sessions, projects and activities.
- Promoting inclusion and safeguarding, ensuring all young people have access to safe, welcoming and positive opportunities.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and external partners, including schools and other organisations, to strengthen the opportunities and support available to young people across Oldham.
- Monitoring and evaluating the Junior Zone offer, using feedback and outcomes to continually develop and improve our provision.
We’re looking for someone who has experience of planning and delivering youth work programmes, leading activities and working face-to-face with diverse groups of young people, alongside experience of supervising and developing staff and volunteers. You will have a strong understanding of safeguarding best practice, be committed to inclusion and youth voice, and be confident working collaboratively with colleagues and partners to deliver an outstanding offer for young people across Oldham.
