Job Summary:

The Sales Representative is responsible for driving business development within the A&D community in London, focusing on luxury residential and hospitality design practices. The role requires travel to client locations to build and foster relationships through product presentations and industry events tailored to clients' specific interests. The ideal candidate will be confident, enthusiastic, and a well-informed communicator with a strong record of accomplishments and a successful history of project involvement.

Essential Functions:

  • Selling and promoting to A&D
  • Engaging clients outside the office through dinners, events, and industry functions.
  • Presenting Maharam products to clients specifying interior finishes.
  • Managing specific product/project involvement with specifiers, end-users, and customers.
  • Providing product information, developing pricing strategies, and navigating delivery aspects, product suitability, and lead times.
  • Maintaining resource libraries for clients and ensuring they are strategically merchandised.
  • Organising and attending networking events with key industry alliances.
  • Anticipating industry needs and capitalising on strategic opportunities beyond graded-in programs.
  • Partnering with inside sales support and sales coordinators.
  • Maintaining client databases and project systems updated.
  • Applying critical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Understanding Maharam’s sales protocols and processes.
  • Comfortably working remotely and in a showroom environment.
  • Demonstrating excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Possessing working knowledge of MS Office, including Outlook and Word.
  • Engaging with clients and staff effectively.

Magnitude and Relationship Reporting:

This position reports directly to the Sales Manager, Europe, and may receive additional assignments and direction from the Senior Director of Sales, Europe, and VP of Sales.

Contacts Inside and Outside the Organisation:

This position involves interaction with specifying clients, purchasing customers, and end-users; internal departments such as resource management, sample department, QA, and key client services; sales management; and local sales reps and coordinators as needed. Travelling might be required.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience within the A&D community in high-end residential and hospitality is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with people in one-on-one and group settings.
  • Comfort in entertaining clients outside the office.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Confident problem resolution skills for price, delivery, QA, or installation issues.
  • Organisational skills with the ability to multitask and handle a high level of product, project, client, and process information.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with Maharam protocols and processes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Outlook and Word, and the ability to learn Maharam-specific computer functions.
  • Responsiveness and an understanding of when urgency is required.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. A degree in interior design and/or sales experience is preferred.
