The Role
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced RTA Solicitor (3+ PQE) to join the firm’s busy and growing Personal Injury team. The successful candidate will manage their own caseload of RTA matters, handling files from inception through to settlement or litigation, and will play a key role in supporting the continued growth of the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of pre‑litigated and litigated RTA claims independently
- Handling matters from initial instruction through to conclusion
- Drafting legal documentation including letters of claim, witness statements, schedules of loss, and court pleadings
- Conducting liability investigations and assessing causation and quantum
- Progressing claims through the MOJ Portal and OIC Portal where applicable
- Negotiating settlements with insurers and defendant solicitors
- Liaising with clients, medical experts, counsel, and other third parties
- Ensuring compliance with Civil Procedure Rules and internal firm procedures
- Delivering a consistently high standard of client care
- Contributing to team performance and, where appropriate, mentoring more junior colleagues
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 3 years’ PQE in RTA / Personal Injury
- Proven experience managing an RTA caseload with minimal supervision
- Strong working knowledge of the claims process, portals, and CPR
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines
- A proactive and commercial approach to case management
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
