We are currently recruiting for an experienced Team Leader to join a well-established aerospace manufacturing facility in Portsmouth.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a safety-focused manufacturing environment where quality, teamwork and continuous improvement are at the heart of everything they do.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of approximately Twenty employees, ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and productivity.
We are looking for a confident and engaging leader who can work on their own initiative, motivate others and create a strong right-first-time culture within the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of 15–20 employees within a skilled manufacturing environment.
- Ensure agreed production, quality and delivery targets are achieved.
- Monitor and manage team performance, productivity and attendance.
- Support holiday and sickness management within the team.
- Encourage employee development and progression through training.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Work collaboratively with other departments and management teams.
- Maintain accurate production and work-in-progress records.
- Support the preparation of concessions and permits where required.
About You
We are looking for someone who is an experienced people leader with the confidence and ability to motivate a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
You will ideally have
- Previous experience in a supervisory or team leadership role.
- Experience managing and motivating teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- The ability to make effective decisions under pressure.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to maintain WIP trackers using Excel.
- Previous experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes would be advantageous.
Qualifications
- Minimum of A-levels, BTEC National Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader position is essential.
