Development Manufacturing Engineer Magnus Search are looking for a Development Manufacturing Engineer to join a rapidly growing international company based in Exeter. Training Working closely with NPD, Production Engineering, Quality, Purchasing and other teams, you will ensure products are practical, repeatable, cost-effective and designed for efficient manufacture and assembly. Development Manufacturing Engineer Key Responsibilities * Provide manufacturing expertise throughout the product development process, challenging designs and recommending practical improvements. * Identify manufacturing, assembly, tooling, material and tolerance issues at an early stage. * Review designs to ensure they are suitable for manufacture and meet required engineering standards. * Lead and support prototype and pre-production builds, design reviews and DFMEA activities. * Identify manufacturing risks and ensure appropriate actions are implemented. * Lead R&D projects, managing deadlines, stakeholders and project progress. * Work with Production Engineering to deliver cost reduction, optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives. Development Manufacturing Engineer About You * Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. * Strong manufacturing and engineering design knowledge, ideally with sheet metal and assembly experience. * Experience with engineering drawings, specifications and 3D CAD/2D technical drawings. * Strong understanding of materials, tolerances and manufacturing processes. * Good project management, problem-solving and decision-making skills. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Well organised, self-motivated and able to work independently. * Desirable: FMEA training, domestic heating experience, folding simulation, Solid Edge, PDM/PLM or ERP experience, and Lean/continuous improvement knowledge.
