The Out of Home channel is one of the most exciting growth engines in our global business, with huge, untapped potential - especially in the UK. JOB PURPOSE: As Field Sales Controller, you will head up the UK field sales function for total UK covering all channels & own the relationship end to end with our external partner. You will lead a team of 11 internal managers, who are responsible for over 100 external colleagues across operational and executional functions. This role plays a pivotal part in enabling flawless execution and driving the Magnum Ice Cream Company’s growth ambitions in the UK. This role will report directly to the Commercial Operations Director for OOH, but also the role will have close links with the Leadership team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Delivering the vision and in year business goals for the field sales function that support the growth agenda.
- Responsible for the delivery of in year goals, for you and your total team.
- Line management of a large & expanding team.
- Ensuring our tools enable the team to deliver their goals sales force, helping deliver our goals in In Home, Independent and Managed Convenience, QSR’s and total Independent Leisure.
- Working cross functionally with all the key areas of our business, Data, Marketing, Finance, Brand and Supply Chain.
- Manage the external partner end to end; owning budget & relationship, alignment of annual goals & plan to deliver them.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Minimum 8+ years in FMCG, in sales management, operational or executional roles.
- Impulse category experience preferable, specifically snacking/soft drinks/food.
- Proven track record of successful leadership & people management of teams (5 reports+).
- Strong, data‑driven decision‑making skills with the ability to work collaboratively across functions to deliver plans, resolve operational challenges, and maintain alignment.
- Proven ability to build and optimise team processes to improve delivery against business goals, driving accountability through clear objectives, performance metrics, and effective coaching.
- Past experience of working with third party field sales agencies preferable.
- Lead effective change management to embed new processes within the field environment.
- A good understanding of CRM and digital applications. Salesforce experience preferable.
- System/process transformation and project management preferable.
