The role: As an Assistant HR Business Partner, you will support the delivery of people priorities across the United Kingdom and Ireland. This role plays a key part in delivering people solutions that support business objectives, with a focus on employee experience, employee relations, performance management, organisational effectiveness and culture. You’ll work closely with the local & global HR Business Partners, UK&I HR Lead, line managers, and central HR teams to deliver day-to-day HR support and help drive key people initiatives.
What you will be responsible for:
- Manage employee relations casework end-to-end, partnering with managers to ensure fair, consistent and legally compliant outcomes in line with employment legislation, company policies and best practice.
- Provide expert guidance and coaching to managers on performance management, disciplinary processes, grievances, absence management and workplace conduct matters.
- Draft investigation documentation, outcome letters and case reports, ensuring a high level of accuracy, confidentiality and attention to detail throughout the employee relations process.
- Support the resolution of workplace disputes and employee concerns through a balanced, objective and commercially minded approach.
- Support HR operational excellence through effective management of Workday transactions, ServiceNow cases and HR processes, ensuring a seamless employee experience.
- Maintain accurate HR data and reporting, using insights and trends to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build trusted relationships with employees and managers, providing timely, pragmatic and commercially balanced guidance across a broad range of people matters.
- Support talent, performance, succession and organisational planning activities across the UK&I organisation, helping to build organisational capability and future leadership pipelines.
- Support managers in building their people management capability through coaching, guidance and the provision of practical HR tools and resources.
- Support the delivery of key HR initiatives and projects, including employee engagement, wellbeing, organisational change and culture programmes.
- Support organisational change activities, including restructures, consultation processes and cultural transformation initiatives where required.
What you need to succeed:
- Proven experience in an employee relations, HR Advisor, HR Generalist or similar operational HR role.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and its practical application across employee relations matters.
- Experience providing pragmatic, commercially balanced HR advice to managers and stakeholders.
- Strong working knowledge of Workday and ServiceNow, with experience using HR systems to support employee lifecycle processes and case management.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret HR data and identify meaningful insights.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
- Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrates sound judgement, professionalism and discretion when dealing with sensitive and confidential matters.
- A proactive mindset, with a willingness to learn, continuously improve and contribute new ideas.
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a matrix organisation.
