What will you be doing

  • You’ll play a key role in translating project objectives and stakeholder needs into practical, robust solutions.
  • From early concept design through to handover, you’ll manage and coordinate engineering activities to ensure solutions are safe, compliant and deliverable, aligned with design authority standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Working across the full project lifecycle, you’ll take accountability for design development, technical assurance and configuration control, while providing engineering leadership during commissioning, decommissioning or modification activities.
  • You’ll also actively contribute to learning and continuous improvement by reviewing events and embedding best practice across the team.
  • Developing fit‑for‑purpose engineering solutions, preparing scope documents and technical specifications for site project delivery.
  • Managing design activities and plant modifications in line with CDM regulations and acting as a Responsible Engineer where required.
  • Providing oversight during commissioning and decommissioning, ensuring safe implementation and effective handover to operations.
  • Maintaining configuration control and promoting learning through review of events and continuous improvement initiatives.

Who are we looking for

  • You’re a driven, delivery‑focused project engineer who thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
  • You’re comfortable managing demanding schedules and balancing technical quality with practical delivery, and you bring a strong appreciation of safety, governance and compliance in regulated industries.
  • To succeed, you’ll hold an HNC, engineering degree or NQF Level 5/6 qualification and have experience delivering project engineering work in nuclear and/or conventional environments.
  • A solid understanding of relevant engineering standards is essential, along with the confidence to engage with multiple stakeholders and disciplines.
  • Experience of CDM Designer responsibilities, safety rules, risk assessment methodologies and end‑to‑end project delivery is desirable and will support your continued development within the role.
  • Proven engineering experience and project delivery within a nuclear or similarly regulated sector.
  • Strong technical judgement with an ability to manage complex deliverables.
  • A proactive, enthusiastic mindset with the drive to continuously improve and build team capability.
