A fantastic opportunity has arisen within the Chapelcross Maintenance Department for a Mechanical Fitter to join a multi‑disciplined team responsible for the examination, inspection, maintenance and testing of critical plant and equipment on site in support of the Plant Maintenance Schedule and other statutory requirements. This diverse role is ideal for someone who is motivated, adaptable, and eager to broaden their capabilities to be part of a team who contributes to the safe and successful delivery of site and company objectives.

What will you be doing

You’ll play a vital role in ensuring the reliable and safe performance of plant and equipment across the site. Operating at the heart of a multi‑disciplined team, you’ll contribute to essential maintenance activities that keep operations running smoothly and in full compliance with regulatory, safety and quality standards. With a strong focus on continuous improvement, you’ll carry out core maintenance duties ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Security, Environmental and Quality policies, procedures, work instructions and risk assessments. In this hands‑on role, you’ll be encouraged to expand your skills through comprehensive training while maintaining accurate maintenance records and applying your technical expertise with care and precision. You will also:

  • Complete all required training and maintain accurate records of completed tasks to support the site Plant Maintenance Schedule.
  • Ensure skills, knowledge and safe working practices related to hand and power tool use remain current and fully effective.
