The Senior Project Officer will be responsible for managing the lifecycle of geophysical survey projects from commissioning to reporting. Jobs may range from less than a hectare to in excess of 1000ha in size.

Survey types include magnetometry, electromagnetics, ground penetrating radar & others for both heritage and non-heritage purposes.

Geophysical Project Officers report to their Line Manager and the Programme Manager.

Please note that Project Officers are expected to occasionally do site visits or fieldwork, but this is on an ad hoc basis.

Requirements:

  • Responsible for delivering projects within budget and within agreed timescales, acting as a main point of contact for clients, once projects are commissioned.
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously at various stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Overseeing project set-up tasks such as RAMS/WSI production, liaising with clients, contacting landowners or land access teams to arrange access, and booking appropriate accommodation.
  • Assessing individual project survey schedules to fit within the wider Projects Team schedule.
  • Managing field teams and ensuring fieldwork is undertaken to a high standard, as well as providing updates to the client.
  • Managing report authors and ensuring reports are written to a high standard, keeping the client updated with progress when required.
  • Providing Quality Assurance for geophysical survey data, site documents, and reports to high technical and written standards.
  • Ensuring project metrics are kept accurate and up to date within company software.
  • Responsible for archiving data/reports, following any specific requirements where necessary.
  • General office tasks such as report writing and interpretation, but with a focus on QA and training junior members of staff.
  • Limited fieldwork ad hoc, if required, for specialist projects. Fieldwork also encompasses community and research projects.
  • Input into the direction of new survey strategies and company trajectory.
