The predicted salary is between 38900 - 43300 £ per year.
The Project Officer will be responsible for managing the lifecycle of geophysical survey projects from commissioning to reporting. Jobs may range from less than a hectare, to in excess of 1000ha in size.
Survey types include magnetometry, electromagnetics, ground penetrating radar & others for both heritage and non-heritage purposes.
Geophysical Project Officers report to the Geophysical Survey Managers
Please note that Project Officers are expected to occasionally do site visits or fieldwork but is on an ad hoc basis.
Requirements:
- Responsible for delivering projectswithin budget andwithin agreed timescales, acting asamain point of contactforclients,onceprojectsarecommissioned.
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously at various stages of the project lifecycle.
- Overseeing project set-up tasks such asRAMS/WSI production,liaising with clients, contacting landownersor land access teams toarrangeaccess, booking appropriateaccommodation.
- Assessingindividual projectsurvey schedulesto fitwithin thewider Projects Team schedule.
- Managing field teams and ensuring fieldwork is undertaken to a high standard, as wellasproviding updates totheclient.
- Managing reportauthorsand ensuring reports are written to a high standard, keeping the client updated with progress when required.
- Providing Quality Assurance forgeophysical surveydata, site documentsandreportsto high technicaland written standards.
- Ensuring project metricsare kept accurate and up to date withincompany software.
- Responsible for archiving data/reports, following any specific requirements where necessary.
- General office tasks such asreport writing,interpretation, but with a focusonQA and trainingjunior members of staff.
- Limited fieldworkad hoc, if required, for specialist projects. Fieldwork also encompasses community and research projects.
- Input into the direction of new survey strategies and company trajectory.
