We are looking for an experienced Messaging Engineer to join a major technology and security improvement programme within a large financial services organisation.
The role will focus on the engineering, security and ongoing improvement of a large enterprise messaging estate.
Working closely with Vulnerability Management, Cyber Security and infrastructure teams, you will be responsible for assessing security findings and implementing the technical changes required to remediate vulnerabilities across the messaging environment.
This is a hands-on engineering position suited to someone with strong Microsoft 365 and Exchange expertise who has experience delivering security hardening, vulnerability remediation and infrastructure change within a complex enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineer, support and improve a large enterprise Microsoft messaging environment.
- Assess vulnerability and security findings affecting the messaging estate and determine appropriate technical remediation.
- Implement configuration, patching, hardening and security changes across Microsoft 365 and Exchange environments.
- Work closely with Vulnerability Management and Cyber Security teams to remediate identified risks.
- Support remediation of findings generated through vulnerability scanning, security assessments and Red Team activity.
- Troubleshoot complex messaging, mail-flow and infrastructure issues.
- Deliver changes through established enterprise change and governance processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve and automate vulnerability-remediation processes.
- Help transition vulnerability remediation from backlog-driven activity into an efficient and sustainable BAU process
Key Skills & Experience
- Advanced experience in enterprise IT Infrastructure, messaging/collaboration roles.
- Strong hands-on Messaging Engineering experience within Banking & Financial Services is essential.
- Demonstrated experience leading and delivering complex Microsoft exchange, Microsoft 365 and Intune implementation and migration projects.
- Experience providing Tier-3 technical support, resolving escalated issues, and acting as the technical authority for messaging and collaboration platforms.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online.
- Strong understanding of enterprise messaging architecture, mail flow and messaging security.
- Experience implementing security hardening and vulnerability-remediation changes.
- Exposure to vulnerability-management platforms such as Qualys, Tenable or similar.
- Strong Power Shell/Scripting capability.
- Experience working alongside Cyber Security, Vulnerability Management functions.
- Good understanding of Microsoft security technologies and controls surrounding the M365 environment.
- Experience delivering technical change within controlled, highly regulated environments.
- Previous banking or financial services experience is highly desirable.
