Role: Trainee Machinist
Reports to: Production Lead
Location: Darlington
Contract: Permanent
Trainee Machinist salary starts at £25,875.02 (plus shift allowance), increasing to £27,442.58 (plus shift allowance) after successful completion of a 6‑month training programme. Following this there is further potential as you work your way up the levels, so if you are ambitious this is the role for you.
We will be holding an assessment day on‑site in Darlington (w/c 8th June). This will give you the chance to learn about our business, see the working environment and have an in‑person interview.

- Operate machinery safely at all times
- Keep work areas clean and tidy, following a “clean as you go” approach
- Follow all Health & Safety policies and procedures
- Show a willingness to learn and develop into a skilled machine operator
- Work as part of a team to meet production targets
- Comply with lean manufacturing principles
Qualifications
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn a skilled trade
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality work
- Good practical skills and an interest in engineering or manufacturing
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
- A proactive approach and eagerness to develop new skills
- Previous experience or qualifications in engineering/manufacturing (desirable but not essential)
