Job Responsibilities: Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, the Die Casting Process Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and leading the implementation of sustainable Die Casting processes, yet also driving continuous improvement within the area, playing a pivotal role in the relationship Die Casting has with the adjoining processes. Required to shape the department through growth of skillsets to driving KPI’s and priorities.

  • Actively present on the shop floor
  • Provide Technical support on Die Casting process related items
  • Daily dialogue with Production to ensure smooth running of the business
  • Ensure the team maintains and develops process documents
  • Develop and implement process improvement strategies that are cost effective and efficient
  • Lead and manage Continuous Improvement activities across the department
  • Investigate, resolve and troubleshoot
  • Assist the Engineering Manager on ad-hoc projects as and when required
  • Manage direct reports through effective communication, leadership, coaching and mentoring
  • Promote the companies HSE policies across the department and plant
  • Leading/driving new product launches/burst builds/tool trials

Experience:

Essential:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Packages
  • Ability to effectively communicate and build relationships
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings
  • Creation of SOPs
  • Continuous Improvement Activities
  • POKE YOKE (error proofing)
  • Understanding of control systems
  • Knowledge of the impact of tooling design on die casting process
  • Knowledge of process change management
  • Proven track record in people management
  • Strong ability to lead, mentor and coach team members

Desirable:

  • Mechanical engineering recognised qualification
  • Robotic programme and fault finding
  • ABB knowledge
  • Understanding of VSMs and SMED
  • Previous Automotive experience
  • Involved in APQP, PPAP, “Run at Rate”
  • Lean manufacturing/ OEE
  • Root cause analysis/ 8D
  • Traceability
  • DOE
  • Pneumatic Hydraulic and Electrical fault finding
