Job Responsibilities:
- Drive the adherence of the company’s HSE policies across the department and plant.
- Lead the development of DCM Setters using the current tools in place for personnel development (e.g. PNet, PDR).
- Responsible for ensuring all business communications are delivered to the DCM Setting team.
- Lead all DCM setting activities – demonstrate the ability to identify opportunities for improvement to processes in terms of safety, efficiency and consistency.
- Lead run-up activities following die change activity to identify areas of improvement and implement robust systems to minimise run up timings.
- Instigate and lead cross functional improvement projects, using ‘shot to shot’ timing as the priority KPI.
- Coordinate with all departments with issue identification and rectification to help improve ‘Right first time’ metrics.
- Responsible for identifying, capturing and reporting of data required to allow for measurement and improvement of DCM Setting activities.
- Drive DCM Setting team to maintain process documentation to a certifiable level – e.g., daily audits, settings sheets, standard work instructions.
- Offer guidance to others in the business through effective communication, leadership, coaching and mentoring.
- Playing a supporting role in the implementation of new die casting products/technologies through design input, launches/burst builds/tool trials.
Experience:
Essential
- Leadership skills to mentor and coach team members.
- Effective communication and relationship building skills.
- Strong knowledge of DCM Setting activities.
- Experience in Microsoft Packages.
- Understanding & implementation of DCM parameter management.
- Basic knowledge of HPDC die design.
- Process change management experience.
- Project management experience.
- Auditing of processes.
- Root cause analysis – demonstrated analytical approach to problem solving.
Desirable
- ABB basic knowledge – (IRC5).
- Knowledge of current personnel development tools used at CCUK.
- Previous Automotive T1 experience.
- Basic understanding of Pneumatic Hydraulic and Electrical fault finding.
- Experience of dealing with external suppliers.
- PFMEA knowledge.
- Ability to carry out maintenance fitting and AM/PM tasks.
- Creation of Standard Work Instructions (SWI).
- Basic knowledge of HPDC die design.
- Experience of involvement in Continuous Improvement Activities.
