Through our robust product engineering, outstanding tooling capabilities and diverse process expertise, we continue to bring lightweight and innovative products to market.**Job Responsibilities:**Reporting to the AGM, the HPDC Process and Business Unit Manager is responsible for the management and performance of all High Pressure Die Casting plant and directly associated processes, teams and production requirements across 3 shifts.Role Responsibilities* Strategically plan, manage and oversee production and process engineering departments to meet customer and business demands through appropriate scheduling of jobs (develop daily/weekly/monthly production plans), throughout prototype, pre-production, SOP and production* Promote quality, lean management and WCM Principles throughout the department* Ensure that manpower is scheduled to cover all production requirements across 3 shifts* Ensure that all production materials and consumables are sourced where needed* Ensures close control of furnace and metal management* Build an effective and empowered team that possess the skills and motivation to generate quality output whilst meeting departmental and divisional goals* Work closely with the Planning and Logistics Manager to ensure plans and agreed corrective actions are met to protect customer supply* Effectively build customer relationships* Develop, collate and report HPDC performance KPI’s to all levels of the business* Develop the team through coaching and mentoring and provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards, regular reviews and monitoring of competence and performance* Involvement in machine selection and maintenance* Budgetary control of the department* Work with other departments to ensure that production is cost effective* Follow and comply with all Operational Procedures and Policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environment programs* Understand, promote and practice Magna’s philosophies and Employee Charter* Promote the companies HSE policies across the department and plant* Drive a 5S culture and structure within Business Unit* Coordinate and direct process improvement projects making detailed plans to accomplish goals. Present and explain proposals, reports and findings to internal customers and suppliers.* Participates in KLT meetings, Operational Management meetings, Town Halls and any other business-related meetings.* Performs other duties as required.Essential Experience* Experience of Tier 1 Automotive supply* Experience within the Castings sector* Degree in either Business, Engineering or similar related field* Previous experience within a similar leadership role within either automotive, engineering or manufacturing sector* Knowledge of Advanced Manufacturing techniques: Lean trained – e.g. VS mapping/Material flow/ CI / KAN BAN* Proven track record in people management* Ability and desire to provide very high levels of customer service and work to high levels of accuracy* Strong ability to lead, mentor and coach team members* Strong practical knowledge of SAP/MRP/ERP systems* Good mathematical aptitude with previous experience of managing budgets* Sound business understanding* Ability to interpret and challenge the status quo* Excellent Microsoft Office skillsDesirable Experience* Engineering Degree Qualification* Materials knowledge* Tooling knowledge* Six Sigma CertificationPersonal Attributes* Able to prepare, read and interpret written reports, instructions, procedures and guidelines* Professional with excellent verbal and written communication skills* Able to provide results-oriented environment and set high standards for self and department* Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from Leaders, Team Members, suppliers and customers* Able to demonstrate understanding of how job performance affects product quality and customer satisfaction* Able to maintain confidentiality, and use discretion and tact* Able to manage and schedule multiple priorities and meet deadlines* Able to work flexible and additional hours as needed* Honest with high integrity* Able to work well with others; build and maintain positive relationships* Able to provide excellent leadership example, able to coach, motivate and build self-confidence within workforce* Good interpersonal skills with “hands on” problem solving expertise* Strategic critical thinker* Excellent people management skills* Good leadership and interpersonal skills* Work collaboratively to achieve project/company goals* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment* Ability to influence and manage stakeholders* Ability to work under pressure with short completion times for projects* Very organised and strong planning skills* Proactive in approach with a “can do attitude”* Flexibility to travel* Valid Driving Licence* Eligibility to work in the UK## ## ****Awareness, Unity, Empowerment:****At Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
