Through our robust product engineering, outstanding tooling capabilities and diverse process expertise, we continue to bring lightweight and innovative products to market.**Job Responsibilities:**Reporting to the AGM, the HPDC Process and Business Unit Manager is responsible for the management and performance of all High Pressure Die Casting plant and directly associated processes, teams and production requirements across 3 shifts.Role Responsibilities* Strategically plan, manage and oversee production and process engineering departments to meet customer and business demands through appropriate scheduling of jobs (develop daily/weekly/monthly production plans), throughout prototype, pre-production, SOP and production* Promote quality, lean management and WCM Principles throughout the department* Ensure that manpower is scheduled to cover all production requirements across 3 shifts* Ensure that all production materials and consumables are sourced where needed* Ensures close control of furnace and metal management* Build an effective and empowered team that possess the skills and motivation to generate quality output whilst meeting departmental and divisional goals* Work closely with the Planning and Logistics Manager to ensure plans and agreed corrective actions are met to protect customer supply* Effectively build customer relationships* Develop, collate and report HPDC performance KPI’s to all levels of the business* Develop the team through coaching and mentoring and provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards, regular reviews and monitoring of competence and performance* Involvement in machine selection and maintenance* Budgetary control of the department* Work with other departments to ensure that production is cost effective* Follow and comply with all Operational Procedures and Policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environment programs* Understand, promote and practice Magna’s philosophies and Employee Charter* Promote the companies HSE policies across the department and plant* Drive a 5S culture and structure within Business Unit* Coordinate and direct process improvement projects making detailed plans to accomplish goals.
