At Magna, our vision is to create great homes together. We have ambitious plans, and are seeking creative, aspirational, and talented people to join our fast paced, adaptable, and highly collaborative environment.
The role & what you take care of:
Are you organised, detail-focused and ready to make a real difference? At Magna, we are looking for a Finance Apprentice with a positive, can-do attitude who enjoys learning, takes pride in getting the details right and can work confidently to deadlines. You will be someone who communicates well, handles information with care and confidentiality, and helps keep our purchase order process running smoothly and efficiently.
If you are motivated by doing great work, setting high standards and supporting a team that makes a difference for our customers and communities, we would love to hear from you.
As an apprentice at Magna, you can expect to be supported every step of the way. You will gain real experience, build your confidence and develop practical skills while working towards a recognised qualification. You will be part of a friendly, collaborative team where learning is encouraged, your contribution is valued and the work you do helps make a difference for our customers and communities.
You will gradually take care of key purchase ledger tasks, including processing invoices accurately, matching them to purchase orders, making sure supplier payments are raised and processed correctly, and helping ensure suppliers are paid in line with their agreed terms.
You will learn to support the smooth running of our finance processes by helping to resolve invoice and purchase order queries, following agreed procedures, keeping information accurate and up to date, and building your confidence in handling financial administration with care and attention to detail.
Magna will help you develop your understanding of wider finance activity by supporting tasks such as monthly accruals and prepayments, cash and bank reconciliations, and other routine finance processes, giving you hands-on experience while you work towards becoming confident in the role.
What you need to be successful:
You will bring curiosity, confidence and a genuine interest in finance, along with good digital skills and the ability to use Microsoft 365 and Excel. An AAT Level 2 qualification and some understanding of double-entry bookkeeping would be great, but what matters most is your willingness to learn and grow.
You will have a positive approach to learning, be able to work independently, manage and prioritise your workload, and stay organised when working to deadlines. You will also be someone who takes pride in accuracy, asks questions when needed and is keen to keep building your confidence and capability in the role.
A GCSE English & Maths 9 β 4 (A* - C) or equivalent, if you have achieved a lower grade, you will be required to complete functional skills. Applicants with transferable qualities are encouraged to apply.
