A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Income Officer within the Income Team for an enthusiastic and committed individual. You will learn new skills and increase your housing and benefits knowledge.
The successful applicant will be part of a team responsible for the collection of rent and other debt owing to Magna. Full training and support will be provided. You will be responsible for regularly monitoring accounts and ensuring appropriate action is taken on debts in line with Magna’s income management policies and procedures, in a timely manner. This includes:
- Preparing, recording, and monitoring arrangements to pay with customers.
- Ensuring a payment culture exists at the start of every new tenancy and licence and continues throughout to ensure that customers are fully aware of their payment responsibilities and Magna’s policy on debt.
- Preparing court paperwork and representing the business in court for possession and debt related issues.
What You Need To Be Successful
We are seeking an individual with a positive attitude, good communication skills, high motivation, diligence, dedication, flexibility, and the ability to use initiative for problem solving and workload management. Applicants should have:
- At least one year of experience in social housing or a similar environment.
- Some knowledge of housing law and welfare benefits such as universal credit and housing benefit.
- Experience of debt recovery ideally within a social housing environment (desirable but not essential as training will be provided).
- Excellent Microsoft skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience preparing court paperwork.
- Experience representing a business in court for housing or debt related cases.
- Experience using the Aareon QL computer system.
- A full driving licence and ability to travel.
