About Magma Maths
Magma is one of the world’s fastest-growing and most celebrated EdTech companies, transforming maths education through the power of AI. Our platform turns handwritten solutions into digital insights, empowering teachers to focus on creativity and deeper learning while giving them real-time visibility into student progress. The result is more inclusive, engaging, and effective maths classrooms for all learners. We’re tackling one of the biggest challenges in global education: maths underperformance, with 1 in 5 students globally struggling in maths. We believe the opportunity to improve outcomes at scale is massive. We’re already the go-to solution in thousands of schools and are expanding rapidly across Europe and the U.S., building a team as ambitious as our mission to help millions of students unlock their full potential in maths.
The Role
As an Account Manager, you will own the commercial growth of Magma's portfolio across the UK, driving renewal and expansion within a portfolio of multi-academy trusts. This quota‑carrying role demands the same consultative, multi-threaded selling skills as a traditional AE, applied to a longer, high-impact sales cycle where outcomes genuinely matter. Your core responsibility is identifying and closing expansion opportunities across your accounts to grow Magma’s presence within trusts while ensuring partners achieve measurable results that align with their instructional priorities. You will own the full commercial relationship, multithreading across trust leadership from CEOs and Directors of Education to Maths Leads and Head Teachers, building deep, multi-level relationships that grow and protect revenue. You will lead end‑of‑term reviews with trust leadership to assess progress, identify new opportunities, and collaboratively plan next steps. Working alongside our Customer Success Managers, you’ll design and execute strategies that drive adoption, teacher engagement, and measurable impact in maths instruction, creating conditions that make expansion a natural conversation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead account renewals and strategic growth opportunities within existing partnerships
- Collaborate with customer success to identify upsell opportunities
- Serve as the main point of contact for a portfolio of multi‑academy trusts across the UK
- Represent Magma at national and regional conferences and virtual events (including public speaking and hosting workshops)
- Build and nurture long‑term relationships with trust leaders and coordinators
- Share educator feedback with internal product and content teams to inform product development
Who you are
- A hungry, commercially‑driven salesperson: you think in targets, track your numbers, and own your results
- You play the long game and spot opportunities within your existing accounts: you see a single school as a springboard to closing a full trust
- A self‑starter who thrives in fast‑moving, evolving environments: you don't wait to be told what to do
- A confident communicator who can hold a room, whether that’s with a CEO, a Maths Lead, or an audience at a conference
- A collaborative team player who shares wins, gives and receives feedback openly, and brings ideas to the table
Requirements
- 2+ years in account management, sales, or partnerships—experience in edtech or education is a plus—with a demonstrable commercial track record
- At least one of the following: an understanding of the UK education landscape, or a background in maths (e.g., a mathematics degree or equivalent experience)
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
- Willingness to travel within the UK
- Startup or scale‑up background preferred: you’re used to building as you go
