Magma Aviation has an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager to join the team in Gatwick, UK on a 12-month contract.
The successful candidate will have experience in Finance Management.
- Purpose of the Role
- To assist with various aspects of the Finance Department for Magma Aviation Limited and Magma Aviation Group companies worldwide, ensuring the department contributes to the achievement of the organisation’s goals.
- To provide financial analysis and reports to the management to enable them to monitor the business and make effective strategic decisions.
- To provide and advise the Management of the Company on Financial Matters.
Responsibilities Of The Role
- Provide management reports to the Head of Finance, Senior Leadership Team and Board of Directors every month in line with deadlines set
- Seek to improve the quality and usefulness of reports on an ongoing basis
- Assist management in cost efficiency
- Ensure the Commercial Department keep up to date with Commercial Flight Reports to allow weekly reporting of flight performance to the Board of Directors
- Utilise best practice accounting methods and ensure statutory accounting standards are met
- Assist the Senior management team with the Budgetary Process
- Assist (when necessary) and ensure invoices are authorised appropriately, processed timeously and accurately
- Assist (when necessary) and ensure VAT is accounted for correctly
- Assist (when necessary) and ensure third party and interco creditors are paid within terms, but taking advantage of credit terms provided
- Assist (when necessary) and ensure the weekly creditor’s report is completed for senior management weekly
- Assist (when necessary) and ensure department heads and brokers are provided with their relevant creditor’s reports weekly
- Assist (when necessary) and ensure all sales invoices are raised timeously and accurately
- Assist (when necessary) and ensure third party debts and interco debts are recovered within terms and any disputes are resolved timeously
- Assist (when necessary) and ensure the weekly debtors’ report is completed for senior management on a weekly basis
- Assist (when necessary) and ensure department heads and brokers are provided with their relevant debtor reports weekly.
Oversee the preparation of inter-company reconciliation accurately and to required timescales to enable debt recovery and payment of balances owed
- Ensure that all Ledger Clerks are making the relevant preparations as stated above
- Ensure all relevant preparations are made for the quarterly VAT returns to required timescales and ensure full compliance with VAT regulations
- Prepare the audit file on a yearly basis
- Assist auditors as required to ensure the audit progresses smoothly to required timescales and the auditors are furnished with all necessary documentation and explanations
- Deputising for head of Finance on cash management tasks, when on leave or unavailable, including but not limited to: Overseeing, Understanding, managing, all aspects of cash flow
- Assisting the ledger supervisors in ensuring sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital requirements
- Oversee company’s various cash flow forecasts and performing financial modeling.
- Build strong, productive relationships with internal customers (Group Board, Management, Operational and Commercial Departments) and external customers and suppliers (the bank, auditors, etc.) to ensure our business objectives are achieved
- To work in correlation with Finance Department staff across the group (where applicable).
