Magisters Education are working with a very happy mainstream primary school where the behaviour and attitudes to learning by all pupils are exceptional. When Ofsted inspectors visited the school in December 2019, they reported: “Leaders and all staff place a strong emphasis on promoting pupils’ character and their personal development. We’re looking for an empathetic and enthusiastic teaching assistant on a long-term basis to support a child in Year 4 with Autism, ADHD & SEMH. If you’re excited about making a real difference and working in a supportive, creative environment, this is the perfect role for you!

The Role:

  • 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Provide tailored support to help the student access the curriculum and stay engaged in learning.
  • Create a supportive and structured environment to assist the student in managing behaviour and emotions.
  • Foster positive social interactions and help the student develop key social skills for better peer relationships.
  • Track the student’s progress and provide regular feedback to ensure continuous support and development.

About You:

  • Previous experience working with SEN children with ASD, preferably in a primary school OR SEN setting.
  • Understanding of the various special educational needs and strategies for supporting them.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to motivate and inspire children.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
