We are working with a supportive mainstream primary school in Hemel Hempstead (HP2) who are seeking an experienced SEN Teacher to lead their AP Room (Additional Provision) from September. This is a full-time, long-term role, supporting a small group of 5 pupils with EHCPs within a structured and specialist setting. The school is introducing a new sensory-focused curriculum, making this a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is confident delivering personalised, sensory-based learning and is passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs.
Location: Hemel Hempstead, HP2
Start Date: September 2026 or sooner for the right person
Role: Primary SEN Teacher – AP Room
Contract: Full-time, long-term
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 - 3:30pm
Pay: M3/UPS3
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead teaching within the AP Room, supporting a small group of 5 pupils with EHCPs
- Plan and deliver a sensory-based, highly personalised curriculum
- Support pupils with a range of needs including ASD, communication needs, and developmental delay
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants and SEN staff
- Implement clear routines and structured support strategies
- Monitor and track progress in line with EHCP targets
- Create a calm, safe, and engaging learning environment
About You:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience working with primary aged SEN pupils is essential
- Confident supporting pupils with EHCPs and complex needs
- Experience or strong interest in sensory or alternative curriculum approaches
- Comfortable leading a small specialist provision
- Calm, patient, and adaptable
